1. LINVILLE FALLS 

Linville Falls is the most popular waterfall in the Blue Ridge Mountains because of its accessibility to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a spectacular three-tiered waterfall plunging into Linville Gorge, the “Grand Canyon of the Southern Appalachians.” The Falls Trail distance is 1.6 miles round trip and easy. The Gorge Trail distance is 1.4 miles round trip and strenuous. The Plunge Basin Trail is a 1-mile round trip and moderate. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash.

4. LINVILLE FALLS WINERY

Our 40-acre vineyard and farm is situated just north of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Linville Gorge in a fertile valley between hills filled with rows of lush, green vines. Our grape varieties include Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Noiret, Marquette, Petit Verdot, Marechal Foch, and our flagship grape, Riesling. But throughout our farm, you'll also find blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, heirloom apples, pumpkins, corn, and Christmas Trees (we love growing!)

5. OLD HAMPTON STORE & BBQ

Old Hampton Store Barbeque & Tavern is a family-run restaurant, general store, and tavern in a historic general store that is nearly 100 years old. Situated under Grandfather Mountain and near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville, North Carolina, Old Hampton Store is the perfect stop for some traditional North Carolina barbeque, turkey, chicken etc...collards, slaw, okra, etc... and many great veggies to choose from. They have local brew during a visit to the High Country.
